The logic is based on evaluation of SQL commands using a risk scoring matrix as well as blocking known db administrative commands (DROP, CREATE, etc). GreenSQL is distributed under the GPL license. You can download it here.

- Virus.Org
- The Virus.Org default password database was created to provide a resource for verified default login/password pairs for common networked devices. The goal is to document as many known cases of default login credentials on as many different devices and software packages as possible. The logins and passwords contained in this database are either set by default when the hardware or software is first installed, or are in some cases hardcoded into the hardware or software. All too often these passwords go unchanged even when the item in question is put into service on a public network. It is hoped that a comprehensive catalog of these logins and passwords will help ensure more accurate auditing. The data provided is sourced from a number of sources across the Internet, including the SecurityFocus VULN-DEV, PEN-TEST and other mailing lists. It also includes passwords gathered by our team over numerous Penetration Testing assignments. Our database contains default passwords for equipment and software from many vendors including 3Com, Cisco, Nortel, IBM, HP, Compaq, Digital, D-Link, Linksys, Oracle and Microsoft.

- Splunk > What can it do
- With a variety of flexible input methods you can index logs, configurations, traps and alerts, messages, scripts, and code and performance data from all your applications, servers and network devices. Monitor file systems for scripts and configuration changes, capture archive files, find and tail live application logs, connect to network ports to receive syslog, SNMP and other network-based instrumentation. And this is just where it starts.

- Basic Analysis and Security Engine (BASE) -- Homepage
- BASE is the Basic Analysis and Security Engine. It is based on the code from the Analysis Console for Intrusion Databases (ACID) project. This application provides a web front-end to query and analyze the alerts coming from a SNORT IDS system. BASE is a web interface to perform analysis of intrusions that snort has detected on your network. It uses a user authentication and role-base system, so that you as the security admin can decide what and how much information each user can see. It also has a simple to use, web-based setup program for people not comfortable with editing files directly. BASE is supported by a group of volunteers. They are available to answer any questions you may have or help you out in setting up your system. They are also skilled in intrusion detection systems and make use of that knowledge in the development of BASE.

- Snort - the de facto standard for intrusion detection/prevention
- The Snort 3.0 architecture consists of two primary components: a software platform called the Snort Security Platform (SnortSP) 3.0, which is shipping in beta form in this release, and traffic analysis engine modules that plug into SnortSP. This beta test release contains one engine module which contains the Snort 2.8.2 detection engine implemented as a SnortSP engine module. SnortSP is an open-source platform for running packet-based network security applications. It provides many of the common functions required by programs that deal with packet processing such as configuration loading, event generation and traffic logging, data acquisition, protocol decoding and validation, flow management, and more.
